These terms and conditions govern all access to Knave & Kitchen, the secret Brisbane speakeasy restaurant and hidden offline card lounge located in Queensland, Australia. By approaching the concealed door, entering the venue, occupying our velvet dining quarters, or participating in any offline poker lounge experiences, guests agree to comply with these house policies.

The terms apply to all onsite conduct, including movement through the speakeasy corridors, use of the offline poker lounge, time spent at leather poker tables and felt poker tables, and engagement with our culinary services. Guests acknowledge that Knave & Kitchen is a physical, land-based venue only and that all activities are designed around immersive hospitality, disciplined offline poker etiquette, and curated chip point entertainment.

By remaining on the premises, making a reservation, or interacting with our team, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions, as well as any supplementary house rules communicated verbally or in writing within the venue.

Entry Eligibility

Age, identification, and regional compliance

Access to Knave & Kitchen’s secret poker room, card lounge, and velvet dining quarters is strictly limited to guests aged 18 years and above. By requesting entry or remaining within the venue, you confirm that you meet this age requirement under Queensland law.

Our hosts and floor team may request valid, current photo identification at any time, including but not limited to upon arrival, when transitioning from the front speakeasy into the hidden offline poker lounge, or before being seated at our leather poker tables. Guests who are unable or unwilling to provide appropriate proof of age will be refused access or asked to leave the premises.

All visitors must demonstrate responsible behavior in accordance with local Queensland regulations and the internal expectations of Knave & Kitchen. The venue reserves the right to restrict or condition access to the dining chambers, the card lounge, or any felt poker tables where guest behavior is inconsistent with these eligibility requirements.

All guests are expected to maintain consistently high standards of conduct while inside Knave & Kitchen. This includes the entry vestibule, the main speakeasy restaurant, private booths, the hidden offline poker card lounge, and any auxiliary corridors or antechambers that form part of the experience.

Use of the offline poker card lounge, bespoke leather poker tables, and shared velvet surfaces must remain respectful at all times. Guests agree to avoid disruptive language, hostile behavior, or any actions that compromise the comfort, security, or privacy of others. Conversations inside the card lounge should maintain a low, private tone that preserves the secretive speakeasy atmosphere.

Guests must follow all instructions from our professional dealers and hosts when seated around felt poker tables, chip point stacks, or any reserved card lounge arrangements. The house may, at its sole discretion, pause or discontinue a session, relocate guests, or remove individuals from the card room or restaurant where etiquette or safety standards are not being met.

Reservation Policies

Reservations for secret dining experiences, private booths, and offline poker lounge entry are all subject to availability and operational capacity on a given evening. Allocation of seating within the speakeasy restaurant and the hidden card room is managed exclusively by Knave & Kitchen.

Guests agree to follow all stated entry protocols, including arrival windows, discrete check-in processes, and any access codes or phrases required to move from the public facade into the inner velvet chambers or offline poker lounge. Late arrivals, incomplete parties, or repeated schedule changes may result in reduced table time or forfeiture of the reservation at the venue’s discretion.

Knave & Kitchen reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel or truncate reservations, or adjust seating for any guest who displays disruptive behavior, disregards the club’s code of secrecy, or otherwise undermines the careful ambiance of the venue. Such actions may be taken without prior notice where necessary to protect the experience of other guests.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Both individual and corporate reservations at Knave & Kitchen are handled with a high degree of discretion. Information supplied when requesting secret entry, reserving the offline poker lounge, or booking a velvet dining chamber is collected solely to manage your visit and uphold the quality of our hospitality.

All personal details, contact information, and relevant preferences shared with our team are kept within Knave & Kitchen’s secure records and are not disclosed externally except where required by applicable Australian law or regulatory obligations. Internal access to such information is limited to authorised staff who need it to coordinate your experience.

Guests are likewise expected to respect the confidentiality of the venue and fellow patrons. This includes avoiding unauthorized recordings, broadcasts, or detailed public descriptions of the card lounge layout, private card room activities, or other guests inside the speakeasy.

Chip Point Usage

Participation in chip-based Hold'em nights and the use of token chip sets within the card room are strictly recreational and for entertainment purposes only. All chip points used at our leather poker tables and felt poker tables are symbolic markers for play progression within the offline poker lounge.

No chip points, token chip sets, or associated tallies may be exchanged, redeemed, or traded for goods or services outside of the official Knave & Kitchen experience. Guests acknowledge that chip points hold meaning only within the structured, chip-only sessions designed and hosted within the venue.

Dealers and hosts may adjust, pause, or conclude chip point sessions at their discretion to maintain fairness, pacing, and the overall quality of the offline poker lounge environment. Any attempt to distort, falsify, or misuse chip point arrangements is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the card room and wider premises.

Intellectual Property

Branding, menu concepts, and card lounge design

All branding, imagery, menu concepts, narrative copy, and card lounge details presented through Knave & Kitchen are the exclusive property of knaveandkitchen.com, unless otherwise stated. This includes the speakeasy visual identity, offline poker lounge iconography, leather poker table styling, and the distinctive arrangement of our felt poker tables and chip point displays.

Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, modification, public display, or other use of any protected material belonging to Knave & Kitchen is strictly forbidden. Guests may not capture or reuse design elements, logos, photography, menu language, or card room layouts for commercial or promotional purposes without prior written consent.

Any permitted references to Knave & Kitchen must remain accurate, respectful, and clearly attribute ownership to knaveandkitchen.com. The venue reserves all rights not expressly granted in these terms.

Limitation of Liability

Knave & Kitchen takes reasonable steps to maintain a safe, well-managed speakeasy restaurant and offline poker lounge. This includes upkeep of velvet seating, leather poker tables, felt poker surfaces, lighting, and passageways used by guests and staff.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Knave & Kitchen is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential mishaps occurring on the premises that fall outside its reasonable control and maintenance obligations. This includes, without limitation, events arising from guest negligence, disregard of staff instructions, or failure to follow these terms and conditions.

By entering the venue and participating in any dining or offline poker lounge experiences, guests accept responsibility for their own actions and acknowledge that the venue’s liability is limited in accordance with this section and any non-excludable rights granted under Australian consumer law.
